Nigerian Police To Prosecute LGBTQ Community Who Openly Revealed Their Identity

The spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has revealed that the police will find and arrest members of the LGBTQ community in Nigeria who in a viral video, openly revealed their sexuality.

While participating in a popular online challenge, the LGBTQ members openly spoke about their sexuality and the misconceptions people have about them.

The video received mixed reactions with some Nigerians asking if the anti-gay law signed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in January 2007 is no longer effective.

An X user drew Adejobi’s attention to the video and asked if the police would not act on it.

While responding, Adejobi said that the LGBTQ members are “criminals” and that the police were on the case to take necessary actions.
