Rogue operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were captured on video raiding the residence of an unarmed lady inside a room at Regional Hotel Ojo, Lagos.
The raid, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, has sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability.
The video footage begins with EFCC operatives arriving at the residence of the woman, yet to be identified . The operatives, dressed in official EFCC uniforms, can be seen entering the premises without any visible warrants. The woman, appearing visibly distressed, confronts the officers, questioning the legality of their actions.
As the confrontation progresses, the operatives are seen forcibly restraining the woman. Despite her lack of resistance and clear distress, the operatives proceed to assault her, using excessive force that includes pushing and slapping. The woman repeatedly pleads with the operatives to stop, emphasizing her unarmed and non-threatening status.
The video, which has since gone viral on social media, has elicited strong reactions from the public. Many have condemned the actions of the EFCC operatives, calling for an immediate investigation and appropriate disciplinary actions against those involved.
EFCC is yet to released an official statement on the incident.
